ὁ δὲ Λόγβασις ἀποδοὺς τὸ σύνθημα τοῦ καιροῦ τοῖς ὑπεναντίοις ἡτοίμαζε τοὺς ἡθροισμένους κατὰ τὴν οἰκίαν, διεσκευάζετο δὲ καὶ καθωπλίζετο μετὰ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτὸς ἅμα πρὸς τὸν κίνδυνον. §5.76.2τῶν δὲ πολεμίων ὁ μὲν Ἀχαιὸς τοὺς [μὲν] ἡμίσεις ἔχων προέβαινε πρὸς αὐτὴν τὴν πόλιν, ὁ δὲ Γαρσύηρις τοὺς ὑπολειπομένους ἀναλαβὼν προῆγεν ὡς ἐπὶ τὸ Κεσβέδιον καλούμενον.
Meanwhile, Logbasis, having given the signal of the opportunity to the enemy, made ready those who had been assembled in his house, and he himself along with his sons prepared and armed himself for the danger. Of the enemy, Achaeus with half of the forces was advancing towards the city itself, while Garsyeris, taking the remainder, led them towards the place called Kesbedion.

This is a temple of Zeus, and is situated advantageously overlooking the city, occupying the position of an acropolis. But a certain goatherd, having by chance witnessed what was happening, reported it to the assembly, whereupon some rushed in haste to the Kesbedion, others to the guard-posts, and the multitude in anger rushed to the house of Logbasis. Since the deed had become manifest, some of them went up onto the roof, while others, forcing their way through the outer gates, slaughtered Logbasis and his sons, and at the same time all the others who were there. After this, having proclaimed freedom to the slaves and divided themselves into groups, they went to reinforce the critical positions. Thus Garsyeris, seeing that the Kesbedion was already occupied, desisted from his purpose. Although Achaeus was forcing his way towards the very gates, the Selgians sallied out, cut down seven hundred of the Mysians, and turned the rest from their assault. After this action, Achaeus and Garsyeris retreated to their own camp. But the Selgians, fearing the factions among themselves and also fearing the encampment of the enemy against them, sent out their elders with olive-branches of supplication, and having made a treaty, brought the war to an end on the following terms: that they should immediately pay four hundred talents and restore the prisoners of the Pednelissians, and after a certain time add another three hundred. Thus the Selgians, having brought their country into danger through the impiety of Logbasis, preserved their fatherland through their own courage, did not disgrace their freedom, and preserved that which belonged to them...
