§6.1Οὐαὶ τοῖς ἐξουθενοῦσιν Σειὼν καὶ τοῖς πεποιθόσιυ ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος Σαμαρείας· ἀπετρύγησαν ἀρχὰς ἐθνῶν, καὶ εἰσῆλθον αὐτοί.
Woe to those who despise Zion and to those who trust in the mountain of Samaria; they have gathered the firstfruits of the nations, and they themselves entered.
οἶκος τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, §6.2διάβητε πάντες καὶ ἴδετε, καὶ διέλθατε ἐκεῖθεν εἰς Ἐμὰθ Ραββά, καὶ κατάβητε ἐκεῖθεν εἰς Γὲθ ἀλλοφύλων, τὰς κρατίστας ἐκ πασῶν τῶν βασιλειῶν τούτων, εί πλέονα τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἐστὶν τῶν ὑμετέρων ὁρίων.
O house of Israel, cross over, all of you, and see; and pass from there to Great Hamath, and go down from there to Gath of the Philistines, the most excellent of all these kingdoms, to see if their borders are larger than your borders.
§6.3οἱ ἐρχόμενοι εἰς ἡμέραν κακήν, οἱ ἐγγίζοντες καὶ ἐφαπτόμενοι σαββάτων ψευδῶν, §6.4οἱ καθεύδοντες ἐπὶ κλινῶν ἐλεφαντίναων καὶ κατασπαταλῶντες ἐπὶ ταῖς στρωμναῖς αὐτῶν, καὶ ἒσθοντες ἐρίφους ἐκ ποιμνίων καὶ μοσχάρια ἐκ μέσου βουκολίων γαλαθηνά, §6.5οἱ ἐπικροτοῦντες πρὸς τὴν φωνὴν τῶν ὀργάνων, ὡς ἑστηκότα ἐλογίσαντο καὶ οὐχ ὡς φεύγοντα· §6.6οἱ πίνοντες τὸν διυλισμένον οἰνον, καὶ τὰ πρῶτα μύρα χριόμενοι, καὶ οὐκ ἔπασχον οὐδέν ἐπὶ τῇ συντριβῇ Ἰωσήφ.
you who are coming to the evil day, who draw near and lay hold of false sabbaths, you who sleep upon beds of ivory and live delicately on your couches, and eat kids from the flocks and suckling calves from the midst of the herds; you who beat time to the sound of instruments; they regarded them as abiding and not as fleeting; you who drink strained wine and anoint yourselves with the chief ointments, and have felt no grief over the ruin of Joseph!
§6.7διὰ τοῦτο νῦν αἰχμάλωτοι ἔσονται ἀπʼ ἀρχῆς δυναστῶν, καὶ ἐξαρθήσεται χρεμετισμὸς ἵππων ἐξ Ἐφράιμ.
Therefore now they shall go into captivity at the head of the nobles, and the neighing of horses shall be taken away from Ephraim.
§6.8ὅτι ὠμοσεν Κύριος καθʼ ἑαυτοῦ διότι Βδελύσσομαι ἐγὼ πᾶσαν τὴν ὕβριν Ἰακώβ, καὶ τὰς χώρας αὐτοῦ μεμίσηκα, καὶ ἐξαρῶ πόλιν σὺν πᾶσιν τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν αὐτήν· §6.9καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν ὑπολειφθῶσιν δέκα ἐν οἰκίᾳ μιῷ, καὶ ἀποθανοῦνται καὶ ὑπολειφθήσονται οἱ κατάλοιποι,
For the Lord has sworn by himself: "I abhor all the pride of Jacob, and I hate his lands, and I will deliver up the city with all who dwell in it." And it shall come to pass, if ten men are left in one house, they shall die, and the remnants shall be left.
§6.10καὶλήμψονται οἱ οἰκεῖοι οἱ αὐτῶν καὶ παραβιῶνται τοῦ ἐξενέγκαι τὰ ὀστᾶ αὐτῶν ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου· καὶ ἐρεῖ τοῖς προεστηκόσι τῆς οἰκίας Εἰ ἔτι ὑπάρχει παρὰ σοί καὶ ἐρεῖ Οὐκ ἔτι καὶ ἐρεῖ Σίγα, ἕνεκα τοῦ μὴ ὀνομάσαι τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου. §6.11διότι ἰδοὺ Κύριος ἐντέλλεται, καὶ πατάξει τὸν οἶκον τὸν μέγαν θλάσμασιν καὶ τὸν οἶκον τὸν μικρὸν όάγμασιν.
And their relatives shall take them up and use force to bring out their bones from the house; and he shall say to those in the innermost parts of the house, "Is there anyone still with you?" and he shall say, "No." And he shall say, "Keep silence, because we must not mention the name of the Lord." For behold, the Lord commands, and he will strike the great house with breaches, and the small house with clefts.
§6.12κζ διώξονται ἐν πέτραις ἵπποι;
Will horses run upon rocks?
εί παρασιωπήσονται ἐν θηλείαις;
Will they be silent among heifers?
ὅτι ἐξεστρέψατε εἰς θυμὸν κρίμα, καὶ καρπὸν δικαιοσύνης εἰς πικρίαν, §6.13οἱ εὐφραινόμενοι ἐπʼ οὐδενὶ λόγῳ, οἱ λέγοντες Οὐκ ἐν τῇ ἰσχύι ἡμῶν ἔσχομεν κέρατα; §6.14διότι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπεγείρω ἐφʼ ὑμᾶς, οἶκος Ἰσραήλ, ἔθνος, λέγει Κύριος τῶν δυνάμεων. καὶ ἐκθλί ψουσιν ὑμᾶς τοῦ μὴ εἰσελθεῖν εἰς Ἐμὰθ καὶ ὡς τοῦ χειμάρρου τῶν δυσμῶν.
For you have turned justice into anger, and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness, you who rejoice in a thing of nought, who say, "Have we not taken horns for ourselves by our own strength?" "For behold, I am raising up against you a nation, O house of Israel," says the Lord of hosts; "and they shall oppress you from the entrance of Hamath to the torrent of the west."
