Hear these things, you priests, and pay attention, house of Israel, and give ear, house of the king, because the judgment is against you; for you have become a snare to the watchtower, and as a net spread out upon Itabyrion, which those who hunt the prey have set up.
But I am your corrector.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not far from me.
For now Ephraim has committed whoredom; Israel is defiled.
They did not direct their thoughts to return to their God, because a spirit of whoredom is in them, and they have not known the Lord.
And the pride of Israel shall be humbled to his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall fall in their iniquities, and Judah also shall fall with them.
They shall go with sheep and calves to seek the Lord, and they shall not find him, because he has withdrawn from them.
Because they have forsaken the Lord, because strange children have been born to them; now the locust shall devour them and their portions.
Blow the trumpet on the hills, sound the horn on the high places, proclaim in the house of On; Benjamin is dismayed!
Ephraim has become a desolation in the days of rebuke; among the tribes of Israel I have shown trustworthy things.
The rulers of Judah became like those who remove boundaries; upon them I will pour out my wrath like water.
Ephraim oppressed his adversary, he trampled judgment, because he began to go after vanities.
And I will be as trouble to Ephraim, and as a goad to the house of Judah.
And Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his pain; and Ephraim went to the Assyrians, and sent ambassadors to king Iareim; and he was not able to heal you, and pain shall by no means depart from you.
For I am as a panther to Ephraim, and as a lion to the house of Judah; and I will tear, and go, and take away, and there shall be none to rescue.
I will go and return to my place, until they are destroyed and seek my face.
