§11.1Μετὰ ταῦτα ἐπορεύετο καὶ Τωβείας εὐλογῶν τὸν θεὸν ὅτι εὐόδωσεν τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ, καὶ κατευλόγει Ῥαγουὴλ καὶ Ἔδναν τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ· (¹)καὶ ἐπορεύετο μέχρις οὗ ἐγγίσαι αὐτὸν εἰς Νινευή.
After these things Tobias went on his way, praising God because he had made his journey prosperous, and he blessed Raguel and Edna his wife; (¹) and he went on his way until they drew near to Nineveh.
§11.2Καὶ εἶπεν Ῥαφαὴλ πρὸς Τωβείαν Οὐ γινώσκεις, ἀδελφέ, πῶς ἀφῆκες τὸν πατέρα σου;
And Raphael said to Tobias, "Do you not know, brother, how you left your father?
§11.3προδράμωμεν ἔμπροσθεν τῆς γυναικός σου καὶ ἑτοιμάσωμεν τὴν οἰκίαν, §11.4λάβε δὲ παρὰ χεῖρα τὴν χολὴν τοῦ ἰχθύος. καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν, καὶ συνῆλθεν ὁ κύων ὄπισθεν αὐτῶν.
Let us run on ahead of your wife and prepare the house, and take the gall of the fish in your hand." So they went, and the dog went after them.
§11.5καὶ Ἅννα ἐκάθητο περιβλεπομένη εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν τὸν παῖδα αὐτῆς,
Now Anna sat looking about toward the road for her son.
§11.6καὶ προσενόησεν αὐτὸν ἐρχόμενον· εἶπεν τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ Ἰδοὺ ὁ υἱός μου ἔρχεται καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὁ πορευθεὶς μετʼ αὐτοῦ. §11.7καὶ Ῥαφαὴλ εἶπεν Ἐπίσταμαι ἐγὼ ὅτι ἀνοίξει τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὁ πατήρ σου·
And she perceived him coming, and said to his father, "Behold, my son comes, and the man who went with him." And Raphael said, "I know that your father will open his eyes.
§11.8σὺ ἔγχρισον τὴν χολὴν εἰς τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ, καὶ δηχθεὶς διατρίψει καὶ ἀποβαλεῖται τὰ λευκώματα καὶ ὄψεταί σε. §11.9Καὶ προσδραμοῦσα Ἅννα ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτῆς, καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Εἶδόν σε, παιδίον, ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἀποθανοῦμαι. (11)καὶ ἔκλαυσαν ἀμφότεροι.
Therefore, rub the gall into his eyes; and being pricked, he will rub them, and the white films will fall away, and he will see you." Then Anna ran and fell upon the neck of her son, and said to him, "I have seen you, my child; from now on I am ready to die." (11) And they both wept.
§11.10καὶ Γωβεὶτ ἐξήρχετο πρὸς τὴν θύραν καὶ προσέκοπτεν· ὁ δὲ υἱὸς προσέδραμεν αὐτῷ, §11.11καὶ ἐπελάβετο τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ, καὶ προσέπασεν τὴν χολὴν ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ λέγων Θάρσει, πάτερ. §11.12ὡς δὲ συνεδήχθησαν, διέτριψε τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ, §11.13καὶ ἐλεπίσθη ἀπὸ τῶν κανθῶν τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτοῦ τὰ λευκώματα.
And Tobit went out toward the door, and stumbled; but his son ran to him, and took hold of his father, and rubbed the gall upon his father's eyes, saying, "Be of good courage, father." And when his eyes began to smart, he rubbed them, and the white films scaled away from the corners of his eyes.
καὶ ἰδὼν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ, §11.14καὶ ἔκλαυσεν καὶ εἶπεν Εὐλογητὸς εἶ ὁ θεός, καὶ εὐλογητὸν τὸ ὄνομά σου εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας, καὶ εὐλογημένοι πάντες οἱ ἅγιοι ἄγγελοί σου, §11.15ὅτι ἐμαστίγωσας καὶ ἠλέησάς με· ἰδοὺ βλέπω Γωβείαν τὸν υἱόν μου. (18)καὶ εἰσῆλθεν ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ χαίρων, (19)καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ τὰ μεγαλεῖα τὰ γενόμενα αὐτῷ ἐν τῇ Μηδείᾳ.
And when he saw his son, he fell upon his neck, and wept, and said, "Blessed are you, O God, and blessed is your name forever, and blessed are all your holy angels, for you have scourged, and have had mercy on me; behold, I see my son Tobias." (18) And his son went in rejoicing, (19) and told his father the great things that had happened to him in Media.
§11.16Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Γωβείας εἰς συνόντησιν τῇ νύμφη αὐτοῦ, χαίρων καὶ εὐλογῶν τὸν θεόν, πρὸς τῆ πύλῃ Νινευή.
Then Tobit went out to meet his daughter-in-law at the gate of Nineveh, rejoicing and praising God.
καὶ ἐθαύμαζον οἱ θεωροῦντες αὐτὸν πορευόμενον, ὅτι ἔβλεψεν·
And those who saw him walking marveled, because he had received his sight.
§11.17καὶ Τωβεὶτ ἐξαωμολογεῖτο ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἡλέηκεν αὐτοὺς ὁ θεός.
And Tobit confessed before them that God had been merciful to them.
καὶ ὡς ἤγγσεν Τωβεὶτ Σάρρᾳ τῇ νύμφῃ αὐτοῦ, κατευλόγησεν αὐτὴν λέγων Ἔλθοις ὑγιαίνουσα, θύγατερ·
And when Tobit came near to Sarah his daughter-in-law, he blessed her, saying, "Welcome, daughter!
εὐλογητὸς ὁ θεός, ὃς ἤγαγέν σε πρὸς ἡμᾶς, καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου καὶ ἡ μήτηρ σου. (20) καὶ ἐγένετο χαρὰ πᾶσι τοῖς ἐν Νινευὴ ἀδελφοῖς αὐτοῦ.
Blessed be God who has brought you to us, and blessed be your father and your mother." (20) And there was joy among all his brethren who were at Nineveh.
