§5.3καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Τί θέλεις, Ἐσθήρ;
And the king said, "What do you wish, Esther?
καὶ τί σού ἐστιν τὸ ἀξίωμα;
And what is your request?
Even to the half of my kingdom, and it shall be granted to you." And Esther said, "Today is a special day for me; if it seems good to the king, let both himself and Haman come to the banquet which I shall prepare today." And the king said, "Hurry Haman, so that we may do as Esther has said." And both of them came to the banquet which Esther had mentioned.
§5.6ἐν δὲ τῷ πότῳ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Ἐσθήρ Τί ἐστιν, βασίλισσα Ἐσθήρ;
And during the drinking, the king said to Esther, "What is it, Queen Esther?
And whatever you request shall be granted." And she said, "My petition and my request is this: If I have found favor in the sight of the king, let the king and Haman come tomorrow also to the banquet which I shall prepare for them, and tomorrow I will do the same." And Haman went out from the king overjoyed and glad; but when Haman saw Mordecai the Jew in the courtyard, he was extremely angry.
And having gone into his own home, he called his friends and Zosara his wife, and pointed out to them his wealth and the glory which the king had bestowed upon him, and how he had made him to be first and to rule over the kingdom.
And Haman said, "The queen has invited no one to the banquet with the king except me; and I am invited for tomorrow as well.
Yet all this does not satisfy me as long as I see Mordecai the Jew in the courtyard." And Zosara his wife and his friends said to him, "Let a gallows fifty cubits high be cut for you, and in the morning speak to the king, and let Mordecai be hanged on the gallows; then go in with the king to the banquet and be merry." And the proposal pleased Haman, and the gallows was made ready.
