[PAPINIANUS libro sexto decimo responsorum.
[PAPINIANUS, from his Sixteenth Book of Responses.] If the fiscus has retained the property of a person deported to an island, though his punishment was remitted, it is established that creditors do not have actions arising from prior transactions against him who was formerly their debtor.
But if he has recovered his property, which was granted to him along with the restoration of his status, beneficial actions will not be necessary, since direct actions also lie.
