[UENULEIUS libro duodecimo stipulationum.
[VENULEIUS, from the twelfth book on Stipulations.] If a slave belonging to an inheritance has stipulated and received sureties, and afterwards the inheritance is accepted, it is doubted whether the time begins to run from the day of the concluded stipulation or from the acceptance of the inheritance; and the same applies if the slave of a person who is in the hands of the enemy has received sureties.
And Cassius thinks that the time is to be calculated from when it was possible to bring an action against them, that is, from when the inheritance is accepted or the master returns by right of postliminium.
