[ULPIANUS libro sexagensimo octauo ad edictum. ] §43.6.1.prAit praetor: 'In loco sacro facere inue eum immittere quid ueto'.
[ULPIAN, from his commentary on the Edict, book sixty-eight.] The praetor says: "I forbid [anyone] to do anything in a sacred place, or to introduce anything into it." This interdict is available concerning a sacred place, not concerning a shrine.
What the praetor says, that nothing is to be done in a sacred place, does not apply to what is done for the sake of ornament, but to what is done for the sake of disfigurement or inconvenience.
But also, the care of sacred buildings and places is entrusted to those who take care of sacred buildings.
