1. §4.5.9.prut quandoque emancipata agat — This clause is a purpose (or result) clause introduced by `ut`, logically continuing from the end of the preceding fragment of Gaius (D. 4.5.8.pr), which states that the action for dowry survives capitis deminutio. `emancipata` is a perfect passive participle used substantively in the feminine nominative singular ("the emancipated woman"), and `agat` is the subjunctive of `agere`, here used in its technical legal sense of bringing a lawsuit (specifically for the return of the dowry).
