[ULPIANUS libro primo fideicommissorum. ] §30.1.95.prUidendum tamen est, numquid, si uice operarum rogauerit eum aliquid, debeat hoc fideicommissum ualere: quod nequaquam dicendum est, quia nec operae inponi huiusmodi liberto possunt nec impositae exiguntur, quamuis testator ita cauerit.
[ULPIANUS libro primo fideicommissorum.] It must, however, be considered whether, if the testator has asked him for something in lieu of services, this trust ought to be valid. This is by no means to be said, because services can neither be imposed on a freedman of this kind, nor, if imposed, are they exacted, although the testator has so provided.
