[HERMOGENIANUS, from the second book of Epitomes of Law.] Those who administer the property of the emperors by their indulgence, even without letters of appointment, are excused from guardianship and curatorship assigned during the time of their administration.
§27.1.41.1Idemque custoditur in his, qui praefecturam annonae uel uigilum gerunt.
And the same is observed in those who hold the office of prefect of the grain supply or of the night watch.
§27.1.41.2Eorum, qui rei publicae causa absunt, comites, qui sunt intra statutum numerum, de tutela, quae absentibus uel profecturis delata est, excusantur: nam susceptam antea non deponunt.
