[POMPONIUS, Enchiridion, Book 2.] Sometimes a curator is also accustomed to be appointed for one who already has a guardian, on account of the ill health or advanced age of the guardian; this person is understood to be an administrator of property rather than a curator.
§26.1.13.1Est etiam adiutor tutelae, quem solet praetor permittere tutoribus constituere, qui non possunt sufficere administrationi tutelae, ita tamen ut suo periculo eum constituant.
There is also an assistant of guardianship, whom the praetor is accustomed to permit guardians to appoint when they are not sufficient for the administration of the guardianship, provided, however, that they appoint him at their own risk.
