[HERMOGENIANUS, Epitomes of Law, book 2.] The seller of an action which he has against a principal debtor must cede every right which belongs to him from that cause, both against the debtor himself and against the guarantors of this debt, unless otherwise agreed.
§18.4.23.1Nominis uenditor quidquid uel compensatione uel exactione fuerit consecutus, integrum emptori restituere compellatur.
The seller of a claim is compelled to restore to the buyer in full whatever he has obtained either by set-off or by collection.
