§11.1Διάνοιξον ὁ Λἵβανος τὰς θύρας σου, καὶ καταφαγέτω πῦρ τὰς κέδρους σου·
Open your doors, O Lebanon, and let fire devour your cedars!
§11.2ὀλολυξάτω πίτυς, διότι πέπτωκεν κέδρος, ὅτι μεγάλως μεγιστᾶνες ἐταλαιπώρησαν·
Wail, O pine tree, for the cedar has fallen, because the mighty have been greatly ruined!
ὀλολύξατε, δρύες τῆς Βασανείτιδος, ὅτι κατεσπάσθη ὁ δρυμὸς ὁ σύμφυτος.
Wail, O oaks of Bashan, for the dense forest has been cut down!
φωνὴ θρηνούντων ποιμένων, ὅτι τεταλαιπάώρηκεν ἡ μεγαλοσύνη αὐτῶν·
The voice of the wailing shepherds, because their glory is ruined!
§11.3φωνὴ ρυομένων λεόντων, ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκεν τὸ φρύαγμα τοῦ Ἰορδάνου.
The voice of roaring lions, because the pride of the Jordan is ruined!
§11.4τάδε λέγει Κύριος Παντοκράτωρ Ποιμαίνετε τὰ πρόβατα τῆς σφαγῆς, §11.5ἄ οἱ κτησάμενοι κατέσφαζον καὶ οὐ μετεμέλοντο, καὶ οἱ πωλοῦντες αὐτὰ ἕλεγον Εὺλογητὸς Κύριος, καὶ πεπλουτήκαμεν· καὶ οἱ ποιμένες οὐτῶν οὐκ ἔπασχον οὐδὲν ἐπʼ αὐτοῖς.
Thus says the Lord Almighty: Shepherd the sheep of the slaughter, which those who acquired them were slaughtering and did not repent; and those who sold them said, "Blessed be the Lord, and we have become rich!" and their own shepherds suffered nothing for them.
§11.6διὰ τοῦτο οὐ φείσομαι οὐκέτι ἐπὶ τοὺς ¶ κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν, λέγει Κύριος·
Therefore I will no longer spare those who ¶ inhabit the land, says the Lord.
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ παραδίδωμι τοὺς ἀνθρώπους, ἕκαστον εἰς χεῖρας τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰς χεῖρας βασιλέως αὐτοῦ, καὶ κατακόψουσιν τὴν γῆν, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐξέλωμαι ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτῶν.
And behold, I am delivering the people, each into the hands of his neighbor and into the hands of his king, and they shall crush the land, and I will not rescue from their hand.
§11.7καὶ ποιμανῶ τὰ πρόβατα τῆς σφαγῆςεἰς τὴν Καναανῖτιν· καὶ λήμψομαι ἐμαυτῷ δύο όάβδους, τὴν μέν μίαν ἐκάλεσα Κάλλος, καὶ τὴν ἑτέραν ἐκάλεσα Σχοίνισμα, καὶ ποιμανῶ τὰ πρόβατα.
And I will shepherd the sheep of the slaughter for the Canaanites; and I will take for myself two staffs, the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Union-cord, and I will shepherd the sheep.
§11.8καὶ ἐξαρῶ τοὺς τρεῖς ποιμένας ἐν μηνὶ ἑνί, καὶ βαρυνθήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ μου ἐπʼ αὐτούς, καὶ γὰρ αἱ ψυχαὶ αὐτῶν ἐπωρύοντο ἐπʼ ἐμέ.
And I will remove the three shepherds in one month; and my soul will be weary of them, for indeed their souls howled against me.
§11.9καὶ εἶπα Οὐ ποιμανῶ ὑμᾶς· τὸ ἀποθνῆσκον ἀποθνησκέτω, καὶ τὸ ἐκλιπὸν ἐκλιπέτω, καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ κατεσθιέτωσαν ἕκαστος τὰς σάρκας τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ. §11.10καὶ λήμψονται τὴν όάβδον μου τὴν καλήν, καὶ ἀπορρίψω τοῦ διασκεδάσαι τὴν διαθήκην μου ἣν διεθέμην πρὸς πάντας τοὺς λαούς·
And I said, "I will not shepherd you; let what is dying die, and let what is failing fail, and let the rest devour each one the flesh of his neighbor." And they shall take my beautiful staff, and I will cast it away to break my covenant which I made with all the peoples.
§11.11καὶ διασκεδασθήσεται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ γνώσονται οἱ Χαναναῖοι τὰ πρόβατα τὰ φυλασσόμενά μοι· διότι λόγος Κυρίου ἐστίν.
And it shall be broken on that day, and the Canaanites, the sheep that were kept for me, shall know that it is the word of the Lord.
§11.12καὶ ἐρῶ πρὸς αὐτοὺς Εἰ καλὸν ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν ἐστιν, δότε τὸν μισθόν μου ἤ ἀπείπασθε· καὶ ἔστησαν τὸν μισθόν μου τριάκοντα ἀργυροῦς.
And I will say to them, "If it is good in your eyes, give me my wages, or refuse." And they weighed out my wages, thirty pieces of silver.
§11.13καὶ εἶπεν Κύριος πρὸς μέ Κάθες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ χωνευτήριον, καὶ σκέψομαι εἰ δόκιμόν ἐστιν, ὃν τρόπου ἐδοκιμάσθη ὑπέρ αὐτῶν. καὶ ἔλαβον τοὺς τριάκοντα ἀργυροῦς καὶ ἐνέβαλον αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν οἶκον Κυρίου εἰς τὸ χαονευτήριον.
And the Lord said to me, "Cast them into the melting-pot, and I will see if it is approved, in the manner that I was approved by them." And I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the Lord, into the melting-pot.
§11.14καὶ ἀπέρριψα τὴν όάβδον τὴν δευτέραν, τὸ σχοίνισμα, τοῦ διασκεδάσαι τὴν κατάσχεσιν ἀνὰ μέσου Ἰούδα καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Ἰσραήλ.
And I cast away the second staff, the Union-cord, to break the possession between Judah and between Israel.
§11.15Καὶ εἶπευ Κύριος πρὸς μέ Ἔτι λάβε σεαυτῷ σκεύη ποιμενικὰ ποιμένος ἀπείρου.
And the Lord said to me, "Take again to yourself the implements of an inexperienced shepherd.
§11.16βιότι ἰδοὺ ἐξεγείρω ποιμένα ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν· τὸ ἐκλιμπάνον οὐ μὴ ἐπισκέψηται, καὶ τὸ ἐσκορπισμένον οὐ μὴ ζητήσῃ, καὶ τὸ συντετριμμένον οὐ μὴ ἰάσηται, καὶ τὸ ὁλόκληρον οὐ μὴ κατευθύνῃ, καὶ τὰ κρέα τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν καταφάγεται, καὶ τοὺς ἀστραγάλους αὐτῶν ἐκστρέψει.
For behold, I am raising up a shepherd over the land; that which is failing he will not visit, and that which is scattered he will not seek, and that which is broken he will not heal, and that which is whole he will not guide, and he will devour the flesh of the choice ones, and will tear off their hoofs.
§11.18ὢ οἱ ποιμαίνοντες τὰ μάταια καὶ καταλελοιπότες τὰ πρόβατα·
Woe to those shepherding vanities and abandoning the sheep!
μάχαιρα ἐπὶ τοὺς βραχίονας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν ὀφθαλαὸν §τὸν δεξιὸν αὐτοῦ·
A sword upon his arm and upon his eye!
ὁ βραχίων αὐτοῦ ξηραινόμενος ξηρανθήσεται, καὶ ὀφθαλμὸς ὁ δεξιὸς αὐτοῦ ἐκτυφλούμενος ἐκτυφλωθήσεται.
His arm shall be utterly withered, and his right eye shall be utterly blinded."
