1. §80.1ἐπαγγέλλεσθαι — This is the principal infinitive of the accusative-and-infinitive (AcI) construction dependent on the main verb φησί, with the accusative Θεόμανδρον functioning as its subject. The verb ἐπαγγέλλεσθαι ('to promise, profess') in turn takes the complementary infinitive διδάσκειν ('to teach') as its object.
