Ἡσίοδος ἐν τρίτῳ Μελαμποδίας τὴν ἐν Εὐβοίᾳ Χαλκίδα καλλιγύναικα εἶπεν. Εὐπρεπεῖς γὰρ αὐτόθι γυναῖκες, ὡς καὶ Θ. εἴρηκε.
Fr. 110 Hesiod, in the third book of the Melampodia, called Chalcis in Euboea "famous for beautiful women." For the women there are beautiful, as Theophrastus also has said.
