§3.114.1μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα τρίτον μέρος νείμαντες τῶν σκύλων τοῖς Ἀθηναίοις τὰ ἄλλα κατὰ τὰς πόλεις διείλοντο.
After this, having distributed a third share of the spoils to the Athenians, they divided the rest among their cities.
καὶ τὰ μὲν τῶν Ἀθηναίων πλέοντα ἑάλω, τὰ δὲ νῦν ἀνακείμενα ἐν τοῖς Ἀττικοῖς ἱεροῖς Δημοσθένει ἐξῃρέθησαν τριακόσιαι πανοπλίαι, καὶ ἄγων αὐτὰς κατέπλευσεν· καὶ ἐγένετο ἅμα αὐτῷ μετὰ τὴν ἐκ τῆς Αἰτωλίας ξυμφορὰν ἀπὸ ταύτης τῆς πράξεως ἀδεεστέρα ἡ κάθοδος.
And while the share of the Athenians was captured while sailing home, those now dedicated in the Attic temples, three hundred panoplies, were selected for Demosthenes, and bringing them he sailed home; and at the same time, after the disaster in Aetolia, his return became safer on account of this achievement.
§3.114.2ἀπῆλθον δὲ καὶ οἱ ἐν ταῖς εἴκοσι ναυσὶν Ἀθηναῖοι ἐς Ναύπακτον.
The Athenians in the twenty ships also departed to Naupactus.
Ἀκαρνᾶνες δὲ καὶ Ἀμφίλοχοι ἀπελθόντων Ἀθηναίων καὶ Δημοσθένους τοῖς ὡς Σαλύνθιον καὶ Ἀγραίους καταφυγοῦσιν Ἀμπρακιώταις καὶ Πελοποννησίοις ἀναχώρησιν ἐσπείσαντο ἐξ Οἰνιαδῶν, οἷπερ καὶ μετανέστησαν παρὰ Σαλυνθίου.
And the Acarnanians and Amphilochians, after the Athenians and Demosthenes had departed, made a treaty for the safe retreat of those Ambraciots and Peloponnesians who had fled to Salynthius and the Agraeans, allowing them to withdraw from Oeniadae, whither they had also removed from Salynthius' territory.
§3.114.3καὶ ἐς τὸν ἔπειτα χρόνον σπονδὰς καὶ ξυμμαχίαν ἐποιήσαντο ἑκατὸν ἔτη Ἀκαρνᾶνες καὶ Ἀμφίλοχοι πρὸς Ἀμπρακιώτας ἐπὶ τοῖσδε, ὥστε μήτε Ἀμπρακιώτας μετὰ Ἀκαρνάνων στρατεύειν ἐπὶ Πελοποννησίους μήτε Ἀκαρνᾶνας μετὰ Ἀμπρακιωτῶν ἐπ’ Ἀθηναίους, βοηθεῖν δὲ τῇ ἀλλήλων, καὶ ἀποδοῦναι Ἀμπρακιώτας ὁπόσα ἢ χωρία ἢ ὁμήρους Ἀμφιλόχων ἔχουσι, καὶ ἐπὶ Ἀνακτόριον μὴ βοηθεῖν πολέμιον ὂν Ἀκαρνᾶσιν.
And for the future, the Acarnanians and Amphilochians made a treaty and alliance for a hundred years with the Ambraciots on the following terms: that neither should the Ambraciots campaign with the Acarnanians against the Peloponnesians, nor the Acarnanians with the Ambraciots against the Athenians; that they should aid each other's territory; that the Ambraciots should restore whatever places or hostages of the Amphilochians they held; and that they should not send aid to Anactorium, which was hostile to the Acarnanians.
§3.114.4ταῦτα ξυνθέμενοι διέλυσαν τὸν πόλεμον.
Having agreed on these terms, they brought the war to an end.
μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα Κορίνθιοι φυλακὴν ἑαυτῶν ἐς τὴν Ἀμπρακίαν ἀπέστειλαν ἐς τριακοσίους ὁπλίτας καὶ Ξενοκλείδαν τὸν Εὐθυκλέους ἄρχοντα· οἳ κομιζόμενοι χαλεπῶς διὰ τῆς ἠπείρου ἀφίκοντο.
After this, the Corinthians sent a garrison of their own to Ambracia, about three hundred hoplites, with Xenocleides the son of Euthycles as commander; who, making their way with difficulty through the mainland, arrived there.
τὰ μὲν κατ’ Ἀμπρακίαν οὕτως ἐγένετο.
