§9.1Εἶῇδον τὸν κύριον ἐφεστῶτα ἐπὶ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου, καὶ εἶπεν Πάταξον ἐπὶ τὸ ἱλαστήριον καὶ σεισθήσεται τὰ πρόπυλα, καὶ διάκοψον εἰς κεφαλὰς πάντων· καὶ τοὺς καταλοίπους αὐτῶν ἐν όομφαίᾳ ἀποκτενῶ, οὐ μὴ διαφύγῃ ἐξ αὐτῶν φεύγων, καὶ οὐ μὴ διασωθῇ ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀνασωζόμενος.
I saw the Lord standing beside the altar, and he said, "Smite the capitol, and the portals shall be shaken, and shatter them upon the heads of all of them; and the remnant of them I will slay with the sword; he who flees of them shall by no means escape, and he who tries to escape of them shall by no means be saved.
§9.2ἐὰν κατακρυβῶσιν εἰς ἅδου, ἐκεῖθεν ἡ χείρ μου ἀνασπάσει αὐτούς· καὶ ἐὰν ἀναβῶσιν εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν, ἐκεῖθεν κατάξω αὐτοὺς·
Though they hide in Hades, thence shall my hand drag them out; and though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down.
§9.3ἐὰν ἐγκατακρυβῶσιν εἰς τὴν κορυφὴν τοῦ Καρμήλου, ἐκεῖθεν ἐξερευνήσω καὶ λήμψομαι αὐτούς· καὶ ἐὰν καταδύσωσιν ἐξ ὀφθαλμῶν μου εἰς τὰ βάθη τῆς θαλάσσης. ἐκεῖ ἐντελοῦμαι τῷ δράκοντι καὶ δήξεται αὐτοὺς·
Though they conceal themselves on the top of Carmel, thence I will search them out and take them; and though they sink from my sight into the depths of the sea, there I will command the serpent and he shall bite them.
§9.4καὶ ἐὰν πορευθῶσιν ἐν αἰχμαλωσίᾳ πρὸ προσώπου τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν, ἐκεῖ ἐντελοῖμαι τῇ όομφαίᾳ καὶ ἀποκτενεῖ αὐτούς· καὶ στηριῶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου ἐπʼ αὐτοὺς εἰς κακὰ καὶ οὐκ εἰς ἀγαθά.
And though they go into captivity before the face of their enemies, there I will command the sword and it shall slay them; and I will set my eyes upon them for evil and not for good.
§9.5καὶ κύριος Κυριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ, ὁ ἐφαπτόμενος τῆς γῆς καὶ σαλεύων αὐτήν, καὶ πενθήσουσιν πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες αὐτήν, καὶ ἀναβήσεται ὡς ποταμὸς συντέλεια αὐτῆς, καὶ καταβήσεται ὡς ποταμὸς Αἰγύπτου· §9.6ό οἰκοδομῶν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἀνάβασιν αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς θεμελιῶν, ὁ προσκαλούμενος τὸ ὕδωρ τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἐκχέων αὐτὸ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τῆς γῆς· Κύριος Ιαντοκράτωρ ὄνομα αὐτῷ.
And the Lord GOD, the Almighty, who touches the earth and melts it, and all who dwell in it shall mourn, and its destruction shall rise up like a river, and sink like the river of Egypt; who builds his ascent to heaven, and lays the foundation of his promise upon the earth, who calls the water of the sea and pours it out upon the face of the earth: the Lord Almighty is his name.
§9.7οὐχ ὡς υἱοὶ Αἰθιόπων ὑμεῖς ἐστε ἐμοῦ, υἱοὶ Ἰσραήλ; λέγει Κύριος·
Are you not like the sons of the Ethiopians to me, O sons of Israel? says the Lord.
οὐ τὸν Ἰσραὴλ ἀνήγαγον ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου, καὶ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους ἐκ Καππαδοκίας, καὶ τοὺς Σύρους ἐκ βόθρου;
Did I not bring up Israel out of the land of Egypt, and the foreigners from Cappadocia, and the Syrians from the pit?
§9.8ἰδοὺ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ Κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν, καὶ ἐξαρῶ αὐτὴν ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς· πλὴν ὅτι οὐκ εἰς τέλος ἐξαρῶ τὸν οἶκον Ἰακώβ, λέγει Κύριος.
Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are upon the kingdom of sinners, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth; except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, says the Lord.
§9.9διότι ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι, καὶ λικμήσω ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ἔθνεσιν τὸν οἶκον Ἰσραὴλ ὃν τρόπον λικμᾶται ἐν τῷ λικμῷ, καὶ οὐ μὴ πέσῃ σύντριμμα ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν·
For behold, I command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations like grain is shaken in a sieve, and not a fragment shall fall upon the earth.
§9.10ἐν όομφαίᾳ τελευτήσουσι πάντες ἁμαρτωλοὶ λαοῦ μου, οἱ λέγοντες Οὐ μὴ ἐγγίσῃ οὐδὲ μὴ γένηται ἐφʼ ἡμᾶς τὰ κακά. §9.11Ἐν τῆ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀναστήσω τὴν σκηνὴν Δαυεὶδ τὴν πεπτωκυῖαν, καὶ ἀνοικοδομήσω τὰ πεπτωκότα αὐτῆς, καὶ τὰ κατεσκαμμένα αὐτῆς ἀναστήσω, καὶ ἀνοικοδομήσω αὐτὴν καθὼς αἱ ἡμέραι τοῦ αἰῶνος, §9.12ὅπως ἐκζητήσωσιν οἱ κατάλοιποι τῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐφʼ οὓς ἐπικέκληται τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπʼ αὐτούς, λέγει Κύριος ὁ ποιῶν ταῦτα.
All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, who say, 'Evil shall by no means overtake us nor come upon us.' In that day I will raise up the booth of David which is fallen, and rebuild its ruins, and raise up its shattered parts, and rebuild it as in the days of old, that the remnant of mankind may seek the Lord, and all the nations upon whom my name is called, says the Lord who does these things.
§9.13ἔδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται, λέγει Κύριος, καὶ καταλήμψεται ὁ ἀμητὸς τὸν τρυγητόν, καὶ περκάσει ἡ σταφυλὴ ἐν τῷ σπόρῳ, καὶ ἀποσταλάξει τὰ ὄρη γλυκασμόν, καὶ πάντες οἱ βουνοὶ σύμφυτοι ἔσονται·
Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when the harvester shall overtake the vintage, and the grape shall ripen at seedtime, and the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and all the hills shall be rich with growth.
§9.14καὶ ἐπιστρέψω τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν λαοῦ μου Ἰσραήλ, καὶ οἰκοδομήσουσιν πόλεις τὰς ἠφανισμένας καὶ κατοικήσουσιν, καὶ καταφυτεύσουσιν ἀμπελῶνα καὶ πίονται τὸν oἶυον οὐτῶν, καὶ φυτεύσουσιν κήπους καὶ φάγονται τοὺς καρποὺς αὐτῶν·
And I will restore the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them, and they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and plant gardens and eat their fruit.
§9.15καὶ καταφυτεύσω αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐκσπασθῶσιν οὐκέτι ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἧς ἔδωκα αὐτοῖς, λέγει Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκοάταωρ.
And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall by no means be plucked up again from the land which I have given them, says the Lord God Almighty.
