Meanwhile, Daurises, who was married to a daughter of Darius, and Hymaees and Otanes, other Persian generals who were also married to daughters of Darius, pursued those of the Ionians who had marched against Sardis, and having driven them back into their ships, after they had prevailed in the battle, from then on divided the cities among themselves and began to lay them waste.
