§3.79.1καὶ οἱ Κερκυραῖοι δείσαντες μὴ σφίσιν ἐπιπλεύσαντες ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν ὡς κρατοῦντες οἱ πολέμιοι ἢ τοὺς ἐκ τῆς νήσου ἀναλάβωσιν ἢ καὶ ἄλλο τι νεωτερίσωσι, τούς τε ἐκ τῆς νήσου πάλιν ἐς τὸ Ἥραιον διεκόμισαν καὶ τὴν πόλιν ἐφύλασσον.
And the Corcyraeans, fearing lest the enemy, sailing against them to the city as victors, should either recover the men from the island or commit some other revolutionary act, transferred the men from the island back to the Heraeum and guarded the city.
§3.79.2οἱ δ’ ἐπὶ μὲν τὴν πόλιν οὐκ ἐτόλμησαν πλεῦσαι κρατοῦντες τῇ ναυμαχίᾳ, τρεῖς δὲ καὶ δέκα ναῦς ἔχοντες τῶν Κερκυραίων ἀπέπλευσαν ἐς τὴν ἤπειρον, ὅθενπερ ἀνηγάγοντο.
The enemy, on their part, did not venture to sail against the city, although they were victorious in the sea-fight, but they sailed away to the mainland, from whence they had put to sea, taking with them thirteen of the Corcyraean ships.
§3.79.3τῇ δ’ ὑστεραίᾳ ἐπὶ μὲν τὴν πόλιν οὐδὲν μᾶλλον ἐπέπλεον, καίπερ ἐν πολλῇ ταραχῇ καὶ φόβῳ ὄντας καὶ Βρασίδου παραινοῦντος, ὡς λέγεται, Ἀλκίδᾳ, ἰσοψήφου δὲ οὐκ ὄντος· ἐπὶ δὲ τὴν Λευκίμμην τὸ ἀκρωτήριον ἀποβάντες ἐπόρθουν τοὺς ἀγρούς.
On the following day, they sailed against the city no more than before, although the Corcyraeans were in great confusion and fear, and although Brasidas, as it is said, advised Alcidas to do so, but since he did not have an equal vote; instead, landing on the promontory of Leukimme, they ravaged the country.
